So if you picture the scene….
I’ve walked to the top of the hill near my house (Tim’s Hill :)). I like to start the morning on top of the World so this is where I like to go. The picture doesn’t do it justice as it’s quite high and you can see all around from there.
The thing is today is that we have the maddest winds we’ve had in ages, so strong that I’m literally being lifted off my feet. Add into the equation that it’s also raining hard and I am wet through as didn’t expect it would be this bad so have the wrong clothes on. The combination of the wind and rain feels like my face is being shot blasted and is actually quite painful. It’s also freezing cold and my hands are so cold that they are throbbing and aching.
All in all a recipe for feeling miserable…..yet!!!

I was then hit by a wave of gratitude for being able to feel those feelings, then for who I am and for where I live. This was quickly followed by the realisation of the incredible difference HSE had made to me over the last few months. Before I would have moaned and groaned about this, both to myself, then to anyone who would have listened all day long. Now I just felt gratitude and peace – wow, what a different experience of life!!!
So even though I come here most mornings – this morning I realised that I am in fact on top of the World
